Open Series Championships 31st August 2024

The CPGA Open Series racing on day one is intended to be a mass participation event with any registered rower over the age of 16 being able to take part in any of the four rounds of the competition in the following locations building points for their boats along the way:

Mounts Bay - 8 June

Mevagissey - 22 June

Paignton - 18 August

Weymouth - 31 August

Full registration details for Weymouth Regatta will be sent before the end of July. But please see the expression of interest form below.

Our previous beach-based arrangements won't be possible this year, giving the number of tourists in the areas, so we are currently planning to move the regatta back to the historic harbour side of the town; as were the arrangements for the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Regatta. The maps (* to follow )show how we aim to provide a first rate spectator experience and launching arrangement.

What we need to know

To make this finals weekend the best possible event for visiting clubs, we would like to know some key information from you, such as:

Are you coming?

Will you need camping?

What might your club be interested in doing on the Sunday if you stay over?

The very short Expressions of Interest form linked below is for club chairs and secretaries and will help us in our planning ahead of full registration next month. We will only share this information with members of our regatta planning committee.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdwH-19AnmOglHjm5ZPCqHfBwKx-oqO9mcx-Md3soMjLXIoAQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Please do let us know if you are thinking of coming. Full registration details will go out before the end of July. Please contact wrcsecretary24@outlook.com with any questions.
