Background
Weymouth Sailing Club (WSC) and Weymouth Rowing Club (WRC) have maintained a collaborative relationship since 1st May 2017. This document formalizes and expands upon that relationship, effective from 1st October 2025.,
1. Membership Payments
1.1 Basis of Fees
Payments from WRC to WSC will be based on the number of WRC adult members (excluding dual WSC/WRC members) as recorded in Sailing Club Manager on the annual membership renewal date, 1st October in 2025, and subsequently on 1st April in alignment with the WSC membership year.
1.2 Payment Terms
· Annual fees are payable within 30 days of receipt of an invoice from WSC.
1.3 Annual Increases
· Membership fees will be jointly reviewed by WSC and WRC annually.
· Fee adjustments will generally follow any increase in WSC membership fees.
2. WSC Obligations
2.1 Club House Access / Administration
· Provide WRC members with access to Club House facilities.
· Allow WRC administrators access to Sailing Club Manager.
2.2 Long Shed Availability
· Provide access to the Long Shed for storage and use of rowing machines.
- During the winter period (1st Oct to 31st Mar),
- WSC will have use of the training room on Wednesday evenings
- WRC will have use of the training room on Mon, Tues, and Thurs evenings
- Both parties will discuss and cooperate with any ad hoc changes required, and the WSC online calendar will be used for Long Shed bookings.
2.3 Summer Boat Storage
· Permit the ad hoc summer storage of two racing gigs in Hooker’s Dock, with prior permission from the WSC Rear Commodore (Facilities).
2.4 Pontoon Mooring
· Provide a walk-on pontoon mooring for two WRC gigs during the winter months (mid-Oct to end Mar).
· Oars may be stored alongside the rowing machines in the Long Shed.
3. WRC Obligations
3.1 Volunteer Contributions
· Encourage WRC members to contribute to WSC volunteer duties, including:
- Club maintenance
- Club activities
- Bar, galley, and social events
- On-water support for racing, events, and regattas
· WRC and WSC will collaborate to monitor and encourage member participation in all club activities, events and duties
3.2 Challenge Event
· Organize an annual gig race challenge event featuring:
- Mixed crew boats
- Men’s crew boats
- Women’s crew boats
3.3 Collaboration
· Promote cross-discipline initiatives (Gig Rowing and Squib Sailing).
· Encourage joint events and shared membership opportunities.
· Support bar, galley, and social event attendance.
· Establish quarterly meetings between trustees/committees.
· Explore shared business development opportunities.
4. General Terms
4.1 Membership Limitations
· WRC Associate Members may not:
- Individually apply for mooring or yard storage.
- Hold WSC office or vote at WSC meetings.
4.2 Term and Termination
· This agreement is effective from 1st October 2025.
· It may be terminated by either party with 90 days’ written notice.
4.3 Dispute Resolution
· Disputes will first be addressed through discussion between club members and, if needed, Trustees.
· If unresolved, the matter will proceed to mediation by a mutually agreed third party.
4.4 Amendments
· Any changes must be made in writing and agreed upon by both parties.
4.5 Entire Agreement
· This document represents the full understanding between WSC and WRC and supersedes any prior verbal or written agreements.
